Regional Qualifier Application
Eligibility *
The contest is open to all youth ages 13-19 who reside in a province without a provincial contest. If you reside in another province or territory, you can enter through your provincial/territorial contest. You may enter as an individual or as a team. Each individual or team may only enter one submission. By submitting an entry, you consent to the use, reproduction, publication, transmission and/or broadcast of your name, institution, city/town, age, grade and/or prize information.
*Employees of provincial or federal workers' compensation boards, provincial and federal ministries and departments of labour, the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and their immediate family members are not eligible.
In order to be eligible, your video submission must:
- be an original work
- be 2 minutes or less in length
- not violate any laws or third-party rights, including copyright, patent and trademark rights.
- not include personal information
- be received by April 17, 2024
CCOHS reserves the right to refuse videos with offensive, rude, abusive, or discriminatory content.
Prize
The winning individual/team will receive $1,000 and their school/institution will receive $1,000. The winning video will also qualify for the national Focus on Safety video contest. If team members are from more than one institution, determine which institution will represent your team and include this on your submission form.
The winners (individual or team) of the Youth Video Contest (regional and national contests) must provide CCOHS with the banking information of one person on the team for direct deposit within 30 days after the announcement to receive their prize. This person is responsible for dividing the prize among the team.
Criteria
A panel will judge eligible entries as follows:
- 25% : creativity
- 25% : persuasiveness and impact
- 25% : overall presentation of workplace message
- 25% : technical quality
